Andy is a business-minded attorney with almost two decades of experience advising clients on real estate, land use, energy, corporate governance and transactions, mining and minerals, estate planning and administration, equine law, commercial contracting, and general business matters.
After beginning his career with the firm, Andy moved into several in-house corporate legal roles, first having primary legal responsibility for North and South America as Legal Counsel for Iluka Resources, Ltd., an Australian headquartered company involved in the exploration, project development, operations, and marketing of mineral sands and a major producer of zircon and high-grade titanium dioxide products. Andy then served as a Senior Counsel at Dominion Energy, Inc., where he supported the land acquisition and local permitting aspects of, at the time, the largest capital project ever undertaken by Dominion Energy, along with real estate and commercial aspects of other natural gas and liquified natural gas (LNG) infrastructure projects.
Immediately prior to rejoining the firm, Andy served as Assistant General Counsel at BHE GT&S, which consists of the natural gas transmission and storage and LNG assets acquired by Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company from Dominion Energy in November of 2020. At BHE GT&S, Andy managed a team of attorneys supporting the operations of the company, including supply chain contracting, LNG purchase and sales agreements, joint venture and M&A activity, project development, financing, real estate transactions and leasing, land use permitting, and corporate governance matters.
Andy is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and the varsity baseball team, and the University of Richmond School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Bar Association and the Henrico County Bar. He resides in Henrico, Virginia with his wife and two children. Outside of the office, you will likely find Andy at the barn being a pony dad with his daughter, enjoying Marvel or Lego anything with his son, cheering on his wife at her next marathon or maybe even sneaking in a round of golf.
